Went to Oxford to study medicine followed by clinical training at The Middlesex Hospital and post qualification I have trained first in general medicine and subsequently in Dermatology. Since 1994 I have been a Senior Lecturer (Honorary Consultant) in Dermatology at the Royal London Hospital (now Barts and the London). My area of expertise is skin cancer especially skin cancer in immunosuppressed organ transplant recipients and I run a clinical programme and a research programme for Cancer Research UK in addition to my NHS and University commitments (ie I'm busy!). I had a 3 year sojourn in Japan from 1996-1999 when I worked at Keio University Hospital, Tokyo and travelled extensively in the Pacific basin with my family (great fun!). I have four children (born 1989, 1990, 1994 & 1999) and I live in North London while continuing to work in the east end. My husband, Stephen Hay, is in finance and our ambition is to retire to a small holding in some very rural part of the UK. |
