| Much work in Film and Television. At present producing TV drama at the BBC. Married for 12 years to Jane with two boys Freddie 10 and Benjamin 7. Living for 12 years in Stockwell South London. Life is good and always seems to have been from Bedales onwards.
Of the block the person I see the most is Charlotte Blacker and through her I hear about others. Charlotte is Godmother to our son Benjamin and I've worked with her husband John Duthie. Speaking of which, there are many Bedalians in the media. I have worked regularly with Angus Moore-Gordon, Tim Hutchinson (an older old B.) and Paul Unwin directed a TV movie called Blue Murder that I produced. I also find myself regularly working with people whose children are at Bedales. You can't get away from them, which actually is great. My recent "credits" are a costume drama Aristocrats,a thriller Blue Murder and soon to come on to your screens a four part adaptation of Joanna Trollope's "Other People's Children". It's about disfunctional modern families, steps, halves and the strains that these structures bring to modern lives. Great fun, honest! Some years in the past, I worked on a show called London's Burning. We wanted a really impressive car crash and as the new A3 extension had been built but not opened, I managed to convince the road builders that we could use their lovely new road as a film set. For three nights we crashed and set fire to many cars (and visited the Harrow and Coldhays). At the end of the three nights we left with some horrid marks on the brand new tarmac. I still don't undeerstand how I did it but the insurers paid up the £20,000 to repair the road which is still for those who know it discoloured at a particular bridge very near Bedales. |

| (In an e-mail to Martin): Did I ever admit to setting alarm clocks around your dormitory at fifteen minute intervals throughout the night? If not it was me. I seem to remember doing so out of a sense of moral outrage after you told on your brother for setting off an "illegal banger". Isn't it a good thing that we have all changed!
(Sounds like I richly deserved the alarm clocks. -Martin.) After reading this, Jonny Morris writes: "I seem to remember that your brothers bangers were particularly explosive (French dynamite in fact) when thrown into the quad at random due to the echo and you have my full support. I had to sleep a whole term with them lodged at the bottom of his bed next to mine awaiting more than a few alarm clocks going off in the middle of the night." |
